countdown.
i'm amazed.amazed at how God has blessed me during my short stint here at UCLA.
my grades for both modules have been not too bad, considering the fact that I'm not studying that well due to all the distractions manifesting themselves in the form of bad sleep, and people making a whole lot of noise right below my room even past midnight.
did i ever stress how important sleep is to me?
i have to have at least 8 hours of sleep, if not, malfunction will occur.
malfunction in the form of me getting all blur and losing my directions easily, and getting lost during seemingly simple and straightforward lectures at 10am in the morning. plus, i get all edgy and irritable throughout the rest of the day unless i have some chocolates, ice-cream, window shopping or good music to perk me up.
speaking of which, i haven't had chocolates and ice-cream for a long long time. i am still on my search for wonka bars (which surprisingly, are very elusive here in LA), Godiva truffles, and ben n jerry's. well, theres a ben n jerry's to be opened in westwood but only in fall. and did i ever mention that all the good movies are coming out in fall ! in august! when i'll already be at home in sg and will possibly have to wait for at least a month later before the same movies get shown in sg theatres! geez. To name a few, there is the illusionist, the prestige, and no surprises, both movies feature on magicians, or should i say, illusionists, but with a twist. cool (note edward norton in illusionist and hugh jackman in prestige) and suave-looking illusionists to add to the eye-candy factor. woo hoo! two of my favourite actors in cool cool shows! can't hardly wait ! ^_^
I'm tempted to be a total spoiler and reveal the twist in both shows, but anyway, you'll probably get the 'twist' (pun not intended) when you see the movie trailers for yourself. totally unpredictably predictable and so not conspicuously inconspicuous. and so, i shall not spoil any fun. and yeah, i love word play. ^_^
and yeah! my very own countdown list! here goes..
no. of movies caught here in LA : 4
1. 50 ways to say Fabulous (during the gay and lesbian film fest in LA)
2. you me and dupree (which is totally slapstick and i have no idea what possesed me to watch it in the first place!)
3. pirates of the caribbean (i'm a johnny depp fan already) and
4. the devil wears prada (fun and light-hearted show to watch! and i have a gay classmate who absolutely adores this movie :) ).
no of T-shirts bought so far : 6
which seriously isn't too many. afterall, you can never have too many tee shirts can you ? :P and i'm trying to justify my t-shirt buying once again...
max no of serving of fries i can eat in a day : 4 !!!!!!!!
this is scaring me. and i just had chicken strips and fries again for lunch! oh no! all the poly-saturated unsaturted and trans fat stuff. BAHHHH!!! but i'm addicted to fries here! :(
no of times i bought something and immediately regret buying : uncertain.
no of books read since begining of summer school till now : 3
and i'm hooked on chick-lit books. chick-lit. hahaha. i love the term.
basically, i'm on the shopaholic series, and i have no idea why i'm addicted to reading about becky bloomwood and her dire bank account and her too-good-to-be-true boyfriend/fiance.
and did i ever mention that the books here are reasonably cheaper than from kino or borders in sg? hah. and no way am i helping anyone buy books back to sg. my luggage is seriously on the brink of explosion. yes. and now i'm contemplating on sending a DHL package back with all my newly acquired stuff just so i don't have to check in 2 bags at the airport. imagine me, a lonesome, tired and blur foreigner at the airport with 3 bags, 1 huge case and 2 hand carry. total target for robbers, theives, pickpockets and thugs. Barf!!!!
no of DVDs watched to date : 2 and counting.
planning to watch the constant gardener this weekend as a distress before exam week next week. hah.
and most importantly...
no of days to home : 9 !!!!!!!! whopeeee ! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
