small-cell cancer.

couldn't control the urge to blog so early in the morning.

okay, what early. it's already 5 minutes to eleven. by right, i should be in the exam hall now on any exam day.. waiting anxiously for those 5 seemingly dreary minutes to lapse. or, i could be furiously writing my essay question still. bad time management la.

anyhow, i spent the entire morning (from nine thirty right up till now) glued to today's straits times. the weekly edition of 'mind your body' had some interesting articles. for one, they had an article about laughter being the best medicine. another one went on to talk about comfort foods(ohh..how we all -love- comfort foods) and the scientific reasons backing them up. oh. and i didn't know chocolates kinda acted as a aphrodisaic. er. don't ask me to explain what that means. go dictionary.com. hahaha. anyhow, my public announcement of my love for chocolates has absolutely nothing to do with chocolates having -that- sort of effect. think its more of the phenylethylamine that chocolate has that causes its 'addicts' to feast on it.
did you know that phenylethylamine is actually produced in our bodies when we're in love? OKAY, i'm NOT in love. i repeat. hahaha. and i'm not dying to be in love. yah. ^_^ just in case you were wondering. and i think i'm banging myself by saying that. the whole guilty conscience thing but NO.. .i am not. ya. hehs. ^_^

okok. now onto my most important point.
there was quite a few pages' spread on nicotine addiction and yes.. smoking again.
one of the articles featured an interview with a dying man, dying from small cell cancer. my heart went all out to him. just reading the headlines and sub headings, you would possibly go, well, this man is probably another one of those compulsive smokers, smoking 3 packs of cigarettes in a day. but no. this man is a NON-smoker. all this cancer inflicted nonsense was due to passive smoking. and thats precisely what made me feel so angry.

passive smoking vs smoking.
i can never understand how some people can just indescriminately puff to their death without having any considerations for those around them, including their loved ones. when will these people EVER realise that it's not JUST about them. yes, go ahead and smoke yourself silly, but why cause uneccessary harm to everyone else? sheesh.

thing is, passive smokers actually die a more horrible and painful death compared to smokers. why is this world so unfair ?
