and it's hard to imagine the freedom we find...
from the things we leave behind.i can never agree more with this sentence.
in the case of Jesus and his twelve, matthew, who used to be a tax collector, forsoke everything he had, his wealth, his status just to follow the Lord, and i have upmost admiration for those who can actually do that. if i were to be in his shoes, i'd definitely have to think trice and trice over should someone ask me to give up my comfortable life in exchange for one ridden with hardships, poverty, suffering etc. then again, the wealthiest person isn't one with the most money, but one with the least problems. letting go of all that we hold dear might actually liberate us from the problems associated with this world; family, relationship problems, office politics, monetary problems etc.
and i have no idea how i started on that topic.
on a more serious note.
i was reading da vinci code by dan brown the other night [read: night] and i got rather freaked out when it came to the part of the dead corpse lying on the parquet floor in the renown gallery in paris being contorted in a weird position with blood writings on his naked body plus illuminscent writings all over the parquet floor that can be seen only with the special purple light that forensics use to look for traces of blood and semen. worst part is, this person did all these to himself. the closing lines of one of the earlier chapters actually ended like that. nice one if you ask me... but i got thoroughly spooked.
weird part was , i actually continued reading till chapter 8. Had no idea why i decided to continue with the book when it was already painting vivid and horrid imagines in my mind. must be too much crime fiction movies plus CSI thats getting to me. btw, CSI is a wayyy milder version of what i 'experienced' so ya. And i do admit, i'm quite timid and cowardy so.. perhaps this explains partly why i got so spooked while reading the book.
to not give the game away, well, i 'd better not continue lest i give part of the plot away and rob you of the lingering suspense, this detective aura that comes out from the book...literally.
i'll get back to my studying now.
countdown to first major paper..LIT! four freaking days! help!!!!!
