Just thought i'd do a follow up on my nike sandals saga.Unfortunately, i still have not managed to catch the bad person who stole them, but i'd like to share a story that someone related to me. It's indirecly related to my sandals....so just bear with me.heh.
(i'm going to share this story as best as i can... )
"I was sitting on the bus that morning. As the bus stopped, a middle-aged man boarded on. He was an ordinary man, wearing ordinary clothes.
Out of no-where, the bus gave a sudden jerk, sending the man into a state of frenzy, arms fliging wildly in the hope of catching some sort of support.
Unfortunately, he tripped on the steps and it took quite a while before the driver started the bus moving again.
The bus was rather crowded and the only available seat was the place beside me. As the man sat down, i noticed that he was wearing only one shoe. The other shoe must had fallen onto the pavement as the man tripped on the steps just a while ago. Without warning, the man took off the other side of the shoe, and flung it out of the window. He must have seen the look of amusement and confusion on my face and added: " It's no point having only one shoe, i might as well throw the other shoe out, in the hope that the person who picks up the 'lost' shoe can find the matching side and make good use of them." "
I guess i'm all over my sandals..i'm just hoping that the person who 'took' them really had a need for them.
Btw, here's a recipe for those at home who are bored stiff (like me)..u might want to try it out. =)
Cabbage and Potato Casserole
2 Tbs butter
2 medium onions, chopped
1 small cabbage, shredded
2 green apples, thin sliced
1-1/2 tsp white wine vinegar
1-1/2 tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups veggie broth
1/2 cups leftover mashed potatoes
In large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter and
saute onion til golden brown. In crockpot, make alternate
layers of cabbage and apple. Add the onion, vinegar,
sugar, salt and pepper. Mix the broth into the mashed
potatoes to make a thin sauce and pour it over the
cabbage. Cover and cook on high setting for 3-4 hours.
Serves 6.
