i feel good now. haha.I had managed to drag my lazy bum and feet out from the house to my downstairs for a quick jog. Wanted to do some sort of endurance jog for half an hour...get the heart pumping again after so much slacking and couch potato-ing..heh. In the end, i could only last twenty minutes, walked for five minutes and spent the remaining 5 doing stretches. By the way, saw a rather interesting sight while jogging just now; a kitten tampering with the headlights of this black car in the carpark. The kitten looked like a technician (amazingly) trying to unscrew the cover of the headlight (for who knows what reason)... cute scene though.haha..just hope that the kitten didn't do anything damaging to the lights...
Yeah..haha..since i'm kinda in the 'health-conscious' mode now, thought i'd add in some healthy facts about veggies (hahah) taken from last sunday's edition of the 'lifestyle'.
By the way, i can't help but have the word 'CHEESY' (in BOLD big caps) stuck in my mind whenever i see the neutrogena advert with kit chan going, " It's..... .. for healthy girls like me!" bleah. hahah.okiay..side-tracking a little only. PS: i do like kit chan, just that the way she said it... ... sounds 'funny'. ^_^
Some veggie facts...taken from 'Lifestyle' , 2 may 04.
1. Carrots are not the only orange veggies that help us see better. Butternut squash (what is that?) , orange peppers, yams, sweet potatoes, citrus fruits, mangoes, cantaloupes(what is this too?) , and apricots also contain nutrients that can improve vision.
2. Corns, dark leafy greens, broccoli. oranges and peas, the antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin protect against macular degeneration.
3. In general, a diet high in betacarotene, vitamins C and E, and sulphur-bearing amino acids is recommended.
4. (continued from no.3) Foods containing such nutrients include garlic, onions, beans, spinach, celery, turnips, yellow and orange vegs, green leafy vegs, seaweed, apples, oranges and tomatoes.
I feel like some health guru already. Continue with more the next time round. :)
