Had a very hard time just trying to establish an internet connection on my computer just now. I shan't say the brand of the computer...for fear that i might get sued or anything.. BUT... I HAVE to say this... %$^& computers suck...bg time.
On hindsight...it might not be the computer having a problem...MAYBE. . its the cranky modem *AGAIN*.
REALLY. Singtel should just give its customers better modems when they sign up for broadband. Oh yes..did i mention.,.i'm using broadband..which seems to me like 56K..hows that. ? GRRrrrrrr....

Sighs..
In case you're wondering how i'm blogging this entry now...i'm using my dad's lap top..which is quite ancient..considering the fact that this lap top does not have windows XP..does not have netscape..does not have icq...does not have windows media player..does not have...oh man..this can go on and on.
Probably the only thing that i like about lap tops is the sound that it makes when you're typing on it. A friend and I were just commenting on how nice the sound of fingers typing on a lap top actually were in movies..movies like 'You've got mail' and 'something's gotta give' . Ok..i'm listening hard now ...enjoying every sound even as i type each word... ^_^

Now...onto things proper.

Do you always find yourself feeling sympathetic over things that you know you shouldn't ?
I find myself in that situation every morning.
Lucky for me...my mum has been driving me to work these past few mornings. And each time when we're on the highway..i never fail to notice lorries driving groups of foriegn workers. Each time..i notice the expressions on their faces. Forlorn. Lonely. Home-sick. Exhausted. are just a few of the abundant words that can be used to describe what i see on their faces. A part of me actually goes out to them. Really..i pity them.
This isn't the worst part. Sometimes ..when the weather isn't too kind to them, i see them huddled together under a large plastic sheet...you know those light blue ones..with dark blue lines printed horrizontally...ya. And i would really like to thank the singaporean drivers for having a heart and conscience after all...Thanks uncles ..really.
What detests me THE MOST is that i drive past some lorries...where the workers have to duck their heads or use their own clothing to shield themselves from the rain. These poor people aren't even provided with even this basic right.yes. i call this a right. The right to have a sheltered vehicle in which they get ferried to and fro from their make shift 'homes'. Sometimes i hate mankind.

Even as i start to feel sad for the plight of these foreign workers..i think about the crimes that these foreign workers bring along with them. Robberies.Theft. Rape. Murder.
I'm not being prejudiced or anything. I may be generalising too much but .. lets face it. Foreign workers do bring along with them their own sets of problems. It has been this way since ages ago. And i remember studying it during History lessons in secondary four.
It's this thought that leads to the ampathetic-ness that i feel towards them .

Tomorrow'smy last day at work. The official end of my very first job. ^_^
There's so many things that i would like to do on april first. Okay.. to allay your worries..i'm not gonna go around playing lame pranks on my friends...so... relax.
I've kinda had the day after next planned out.
1. Go visit the LOTR exhibition at science centre. (Considering the fact that i live in rather close proximity to the science centre..that shouldnt be much of a prob.)
2. Watch 'Hidalgo' .. (the movie with viggo mortensen as this cool traveller. Man..he looks so good...good as ever. Heh. =P)
3. Go pig out at the Sakae Sushi buffet. Haha..have i ever said how much i love sushi ..
4.Spend hours at the orchard library. relaxing with a nice cup of coffee and a good book.
5. Go window shopping for new clothes. (not that i'm a shopaholic. Frankly..i quite hate shopping..esp for clothes. Yahs. )
6. Work a strenous routine at the GYM! (yes i seriously need to get those flabs shed...and those muscles working again..hahahaha)

Basically that's it for now. I guess this entry is a record breaking one. All time longest SO FAR. haha..
Right.

Felt very enlightened after finally reading finish mitch albom's five people you meet in heaven.
Well...since my creative juices aren't flowing in their right places now..just thought i'd pen down an excerpt from the book..
This short paragraph is basically a conversation shared between Eddie and his wife Marguerite..who also happens to be the fourth person he meets in 'heaven' and also, the person whom he missed and loved the most while on 'earth'.

"Lost love is still love, Eddie. It takes a different form that's all.
You can't see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens.
Memory.
Memory becomes your partner. Your nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. "
"Life has to end," she said. "Love doesn't."

This is one of my favourite paragraphs from the entire book.
It's so comforting each time i read this through over and over again. It definitely brings comfort to those out there who had lost a loved one some time back or recently.
Really. Memory is practically the only thing that we take along with us when a loved one has died.
Life has to end someday..somehow.. but Love doesn't.

This world that we live in is harsh..cruel..and absolutely unfair. Many people find such a sentiment nothing more than true. I was in the same lift as this man who..instead of enjoying family bliss in the comforts of his own home on a saturday night ..had to go deliver tanks of methane..(aka gas that is required for cooking) ..to houses. Even my mum commented that such a job is so tough..imagine resting the weight of that big blue tank all on one shoulder...... ..thankfully there's the lift.
While hearing that..i think of those rich businessmen who..do not even have to lift a finger..and money just seems to come to them just like a never-ending stream of water, while others..like that delivery man..has to slog his guts out..just to bring home enough money to supply his family with the basic needs of life.
That is the harsh reality of life.
Just a few days back...i was walking home from the mrt station.
It was closing eleven at night. Under the sheltered walk-way..i saw the same old lady..sitting on the sheltered pavement..with bags of tissue paper and a water bottle laid in front of her. As i walked past..i saw a man..(prob a NS man cos of his crew-cut hairstyle) squat down in front of her..offering to buy some packets of tissue so that the old-lady could start packing up and make her way home. My heart squirmed inside me. There was an immense feeling of guilt within me even as i looked away. My thoughts at that point were of myself being so selfish..that i could blatently walk away knowing that this old lady had been doing what she had been doing for the past few days..and i actually didnt offer any help to her..and that i would rather spend my money on miserable useless things than give the money to her...up till now..i still feel remorseful over that incident.
Turtle soups...sharks' fin soup...and all other food that is supposed to be a delicacy also speaks off the cruelty of this world. I'm not expecting everyone else to be a vegetarian..even i myself am not one..but.. i just cannot understand how people can ingest those food and not entertain the thought that very soon..such animals would cease to exist from this earth.

I was out with my mum today. Yeps. Went to get my shorts changed..from a size L to a size M. Felt so so lucky..haha..cos it was the very last piece of M they had. ^_^

Well, okay the Nike shop that i went to had an addidas shop opposite it..(and we wonder why....hahahah). When i came out from the nike shop, i found myself starring at a picture of Mohamad Ali, with this very very inspiring and makes-you-wanna-get-up-and-do-something-about-your-life quote at the front of the addidas shop.
So, ya..i know its evil (heh ^_^) and extremely unoriginal to copy this quote here..but hecks..im doing it anyway. It's titled 'IMPOSSIBLE'.

IMPOSSIBLE__

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men, who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.

Impossible is not a fact.
It's an opinion.
Impossible is not a declaration.
It's a dare.
Impossible is potential.
Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is Nothing.

Decided to keep things short (very very short) and simple.
So...
this is especially going out to the graduating batch..aka the potential freshies who are about to enter Uni life...
food for thought..

i had just finished watching the 'Josh Groban: In Concert' DVD for the third time.
Man..it was good.
His voice is simply breath-taking.
The songs were soulful...lyrics meaningful.. accompanying orchestra was superb. Everyone played their own part well and very very well. One word to sum up the concert.. Fantabulous with the capital F.
If Josh Groban ever does come to singapore for a concert..(and i really hope he does..he stopped over at Japan just some months back..or is he going there?) I'd definitely get front seats. ^_^

I do believe that his voice is a gift from GOD.
You look at him singing..and it all seems so effortless.
His voice is crystal clear, perfect pitched, has a wide range, has good control and the list simply goes on... ...
Maybe his gift (the voice) just stands out from the rest. As in..im sure each and every one of us has a gift. It's just whether we actually wish to acknowlege it and use it wisely, for GOD's purpose or just chuck it aside simply cos we think it's nothing impressive, nothing distinct, nothing spectacular.
Yeps.

So...to anyone out there...if u Do realise you have a special talent for something..be it in music..or the arts..or even drama...use it! Who knows what you can actually accomplish or whom you might reach out to.

If you ever do pass by any toy shop or shop that sells all the cartoonish stuff.. you will bound to be greeted at by a sea of nodding smileys encased inside a huge plastic container. Apparently, those smileys (frequent shoppers shd know what i'm refering to) are powered by solar energy, so basically, as long as the sun's out ... you'd always see those little 'man' smiling and nodding in approval.

I just saw them today again.

It felt kinda comforting to see them, especially when you feel as though things do not go well for you, or if you feel as though you're perpetually making the wrong decisions. SO for just a mere price-tag of $24.95 (if i remembered correctly), you really feel your spirits getting lifted up . Okay, im not implying that im feeling down or depressed now, it's just... in a world where everyone (okay..MOST people)seem to walk and pass you by even without looking at you, it's quite nice to see a 'friendly' face..a smiling one at that too. =)

I don't know if it's just me...but i seem to see beautiful people everywhere i go.
Beautiful people..as defined by the world's standards that is...the whole outlook..the dressing..the hair.. etc..

You know it's amazing how no matter how bad we think we look..how we deem ourselves to be unaccepting to the rest of the world... There would always be at least ONE person out there..(apart from GOD) who thinks that YOU are the MOST beautiful person on this earth. And i cannot imagine all this happening without a GOD...a wonderful creator who made it all possible.......
A divine being who wants to make sure that everyone gets loved..gets cherished...gets treasured by this ONE other human being on this planet..even though the rest of the world might shun us or discriminate against us..

That's such a comforting thought.

So to all those out there who might be feeling so unlovable.. don't EVER feel that way again... your time will come... when that someone will step into your life...

i seriously can't imagine this world without God.

Hms.
Just realized that i've been neglecting this blog of mine..hardly had any new entries since last friday..aka the day of release of the A level results.
Just in case you (the one reading this) are wondering how I did, well i'll just say that i did well enough to enter all the local unis..haha..and maybe some of the courses of my choice, but not ALL. ^_^ Is more than enough for you to know, considering the fact that you (the one reading this) do not actually know me..apart from the fact that im quite a narcissistic person..hence the 'memyselfnsa' title ... and possibly that i DO have a nick/first-name/middle-name/last-name begining with 'sa'.

Thats me for you.

Up till today,i still haven't bothered to go 'study' and learn a thing or two about creating so called tag boards..links..backdrops etc. Maybe SOMEONE *hint hint* can offer their help to me VOLUNTARILY ... hahaha... okay..I NEED HELP!!!

I was thinking. Writing a entry for every single day could be quite a chore ..and a bore as well. A chore ..for me..since i get very very tired.. (amazingly) the moment i get home from work, bathe, and change into some comfy clothes. A bore for you (yes, the one reading this) if u have to go thru entries after entries about ME ME and more ME. Conclusion :: had quite an inspiration to include some famous/inspirational/enlightening/thought-provoking proverb, quote or extract that i somehow manage to come up with. ^_^ Lol..(btw it stands for 'laughing-out-loud')
I'm kidding. =P How can i possibly do that?!? Naw..i'll just 'kope' it from somewhere..somehow..just as long as i don't get entangled in some copyright legal suit...yeps.
Once again, i'm wondering..how many people actually ARE reading what i have to say everyday... or maybe every other day ? I won't call what i'm doing a waste of time. Writing IS therapeutic. Oh..for all those out there who seek to improve your english/GP grade...GO GET ONE BLOG AND START WRITING NOW!!
btw..i had an A2 for gp...so that should get you started . =)

To end off...here's a 'stupid fact' for the day....
"You can never lick your elbow no matter how hard you try........ and everyone who reads this will try to do it...although i've said that its kinda impossible."
Thats humans for you.

Went with four other friends to coffee club to have dinner, coffee, mud-pies, potato wedges, country pies , calgary burger n fries, iced earl grey vanilla, garlic prawn pasta. .. ... hahah.. okay..i should stop. The food was excellent . The waiters kinda got a shock when they saw us.One of them even said, " Didnt you all come here 'just now'?" haha..just now...being yesterday...we went to coffee club like on last friday..yesterday..AND today! Hows that! =)
Oh..and i asked if they actually had any VIP cards...AND THEY DO! hahaha...but the card comes with a condition..which i better not mention..haha
Ya..i felt really good..i havent quite experienced anything like this for quite some time ... the few of us have been mere aquaintances for just a month odd...and we actually could sit..talk..joke about lame and silly stuff... laugh .. do the 'cheers' thing..our 'fork' thing..(hahah..ok..private joke..only they would know)..and it all felt so so comfortable..it was as if i'd known them since my sec school days...whoas i tell u..plus..the music helped make the mood so relaxing and chilled-out,it was as if we were having some class gathering.... ....

Nice. =)

I seriously need to get my diet..ANY diet going...i feel so...so...haha..bloated! Especially after these past few days of stuffing myself with 'rich' food...sinful sinful...Hms.... ^_^ Then again..maybe its the stress! hah. Excueses. OR..i'm feeling stressed...but sub-consciously. It's quite amazing how our sub-consciousness actually get to us.. unknowingly. *duh* .. =P
Right!
